Kelsea Ballerini recently teamed up once again with music-based charity, Musicians On Call, to spread the joy of music to patients by singing their favourite songs at their bedside.
“Your talent brings smiles to many!” Musicians On Call stated as they shared an endearing clip of Ballerini during her visit to Phoenix Children’s Hospital back in May. The ‘Patterns’ singer duetted with a young girl sat in her hospital bed, as she playfully shared the ‘mic’ back and forth while singing Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’.
@musiciansoncallorg Huge thanks to @kelseaballerini for bringing joy and brightness to patients by playing their favorite songs 🎶💛 Your talent brings smiles to many! #musicheals #musicinhospitals ♬ original sound - Musicians On Call
Even from behind a medical face mask, we just know that our country pop queen was smiling and doing her best to brighten the young girl’s day – even if it wasn’t while singing a Ballerini original. Fans took to the comments to share the love, with notes like “we made the right girl famous” and “sunshine in human form”.
Musicians On Call aims to ‘bring live and recorded music to the bedsides of patients, families and caregivers in healthcare environments,’ and Ballerini is one of many country artists on their roster. Other volunteers include household country names including Darius Rucker, Luke Bryan, Trisha Yearwood and Dolly Parton.
Ballerini has been part of the organisation for almost ten years, after helping launch the program in Phoenix back in 2016. On her most recent visit, Ballerini shared that they hope to provide a small bit of relief to the children and their families, sharing; “it’s a beautiful way to let music be what music is, which is powerful”.
We certainly agree with the power of music, and love to see it being shared so thoughtfully with those that need it most.
