Bayker Blankenship has unveiled the official music video for his viral hit, ‘Maxed Out’, with the up-and-coming artist recruiting popular TikTok personality, Keaton Oaks, for the visuals.
Oaks has built a sizeable following on the platform through videos of her lip-syncing to much-loved country songs. Her appearance in the ‘Maxed Out’ video serves as a heartwarming full circle moment, given how her support of the track helped Bayker Blankenship's lovelorn single go viral on TikTok before its streaming release.
In the new video, we follow an exhausted Bayker Blankenship as the bills pile up and he struggles to make a living at the local diner, mirroring the down-and-out ambience of the track.
Then, Keaton Oaks enters with a group of friends, with Oaks acting as the cause of our protagonist's heartbreak (“She's the reason I started it all / Lord, she's praying on my downfall / Hoping I'll never make it out of this town / She won't leave me alone”).
‘Maxed Out’ is a sinuous, undulating earworm that has consolidated Bayker Blankenship's ‘next big thing’ status, with the Livingston, Tennessee singer-songwriter combining the raw, vulnerable lyricism of the likes of Dylan Gossett and Sam Barber with a notably more polished, sleeker ambience that feels perfect for Country Radio.
This new music video will undoubtedly give another boost to the smash hit single, which became Bayker Blankenship's first ever entry on the Canadian Hot 100 last month. The fast-emerging crooner recently dropped his debut EP, Younger Years, with fans hoping Blankenship is currently readying a full-length album for later this year.
