Luke Combs has joined forces with Jon Bellion for a brand new collaboration, ‘Why’, with the duo sharing snippets of the genre-blending link-up across their social media channels.
Bellion doesn't hail from the country music world, but his intricate, soulful vocals no doubt lend themselves to the storytelling-oriented impetus behind much of Music City.
‘Why’ finds the two artists trading verses expressing how low and crestfallen they feel, with Combs and Bellion asking why they bother giving their love to “anything at all”.
The intimate, vulnerable offering is set to appear on Bellion's new album, FATHER FIGURE, which drops on June 4th and also features Pharrell Williams on ‘HOROSCOPE’.
Given the fact that Combs and Bellion have each just shared snippets of this blockbuster collaboration, we suspect they're gearing up to release ‘Why’ ahead of the album.
It could be dropping as soon as this Friday (May 23rd), and given how beautifully sparse and emotionally rich the clips of ‘Why’ sound, we're hoping we don't have to wait too long before we can stream this foray into new sonic territory from Combs.
