Following news that Carrie Underwood, the Village People and Lee Greenwood would be performing at Donald Trump's presidential inauguration on January 20th, a host of other big-name country acts have been added to the weekend's roster of performers.

Jason Aldean and Rascal Flatts will take the stage at the Commander-in-Chief Ball, which will be attended by active members of the military. Trump is due to make a speech at the event.

Gary LeVox, the lead singer of Rascal Flatts - who recently announced their reunion for a sprawling 2025 tour - has taken to X (formerly Twitter) to express his gratitude at being asked to perform. LeVox explained, “I am so humbled and honored and grateful for the opportunity again to play the inauguration of the 47th President of the United States. I got to play it in 2016 and now Rascal Flatts will be performing at the commanders ball and I am so looking forward to it! Thank you to Governor Christie, Gnome, and Mrs. Virginia - It will be a night to remember!”

Similarly, Billy Ray Cyrus and Kid Rock will make appearances at Donald Trump's ‘Victory Rally’ at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, alongside the previously unveiled Village People. It's not the first time Kid Rock has aligned himself with Trump, with the genre-blending artist performing his 2000 hit, ‘American Bad Ass’, at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin last July.

It's not yet clear what Aldean and Rascal Flatts will be performing, but the Village People will deliver their iconic anthem, ‘YMCA’, which has been used by Donald Trump throughout his campaign trail. The band defended their decision to perform at Trump's inauguration via socials, “We know this wont make some of you happy to hear however we believe that music is to be performed without regard to politics”.

The disco trailblazers went on, “Our song Y.M.C.A. is a global anthem that hopefully helps bring the country together after a tumultuous and divided campaign where our preferred candidate lost. Therefore, we believe it's now time to bring the country together with music which is why VILLAGE PEOPLE will be performing at various events as part of the 2025 Inauguration of Donald J. Trump”.

Carrie Underwood, meanwhile, will sing ‘America the Beautiful’ during Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony, which is due tot take place in Washington, DC on January 20th.

Underwood underlined how proud she was to be taking part in the presidential swearing-in, “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future”.

Country music has enjoyed a prominent role in the past few presidential inaugurations, with Garth Brooks performing at Barack Obama and Joe Biden's swearing-in ceremonies, while Tyler Hubbard and Tim McGraw joined forces for the latter. Toby Keith performed ‘American Soldier’ at Trump's first inauguration in 2017.
