It's been a thrilling last twelve months for young up-and-comer Vincent Mason, and he's wasting no time diving into 2025 as he kicks off the new year with his new track 'Waitin' on You to Wear Off.'
Released via Interscope/UMG Nashville/Music Soup, the first of what we hope will be many releases from the Georgia native offers a painful vulnerability into love, heartache and the steady roll of time it takes to move on from both.
"I'm still waiting on time to do what it's supposed to / I'm waiting on the midnight where I don't feel your touch," he laments across a warm acoustic buzz as twangy guitars set the stage.
With his silky smooth, southern pop vocals gliding across the barren track, he continues: "I'm waiting on this heart to not get so close to / The memories that turn around and hurt it so much / I'm right where you left me / It's taking too long / I'm still waiting on you to wear off."
Written by Mason, Jack Hummel and Colton Venner, 'Waitin' on You to Wear Off' finds the singer in what's becoming his signature sweet spot, somehow toeing the lines between John Mayer and Parker McCollum, with both parts working in gorgeous harmony.
Speaking of the unique musical concoction, Mason shared, “I was more hands on with this production than I have ever been before. I had such a clear vision of how I wanted this song to feel, and it just felt like the perfect time of year for it."
Zooming out to his small but mighty discography thus far, the vision for his artistry seems to only been getting clearer as his last several singles all have at least two million streams on Spotify alone, including 'Speak of the Devil,' 'Heart Like This' and 'Train of Thought.'
This newest offering simply adds what will no doubt be yet another multi-million stream entry for the burgeoning star who is building what we can only imagine will be his prolific, debut, full-length record sometime this year.
Mason's debut EP, Can't Just Be Me, arrived in May of 2024 and included his standout hit single, 'Hell is a Dance Floor,' which has since gone on to rack up for than 75 million streams across all platforms.
While 2024 saw him make his coveted Grand Ole Opry debut, find his way onto a slew of top-tier festival bills and open up for acts like McCollum, Ashley Cooke and Niko Moon, 2025 is already looking to be bigger and better for Mason who will kick off his sold-out Hell Is A Dance Floor Tour on February 7 before serving as support on select dates of Riley Green's Damn Country Music trek later in the year.
