We might have just been treated to a whopping 37 tracks a month ago, but there's a new fan-theory floating around TikTok speculating that Morgan Wallen might be preparing a surprise release for this Father's Day (Sunday, June 15th 2025).
The theory stems from one of Morgan Wallen's leading fan-accounts, Jessica, aka the westERN Wallenteer, who also gave us the prediction that Wallen has been filming a music video for either ‘Number 3 and Number 7’ or ‘I Ain't Comin’ Back’. For this particular theory, Jessica credits another account, Amy, for the initial idea.
The fan-page points out that, when the ‘What I Want’ chart-topper was speaking to Apple Music's Kelleigh Bannen in the lead-up to the release of his new album, I'm the Problem, they discussed a heartwarming letter Wallen's father penned for him.
Bannen references this letter being included in the new album's liner notes, while Wallen seemingly backs this up, mentioning there being “a book” alongside the record.
Bannen gushed, “This letter that your daddy wrote to you, in the liner notes, is so tender...Did you know he was gonna do that? What happened when you first wrote that?”
Wallen responded, “I knew he was gonna do it. But I mean, I didn't give him any direction on what to say or anything like that, you know? He probably was caught off-guard by me even asking him to do something...I never had a book like this or anything like that for an album release, so this was something new for all of us”.
However, it seems none of the CD or vinyl variants for I'm the Problem so far have included any kind of letter from Wallen's father. Given the fact that this Sunday is Father's Day, some suspect he might be gearing up for to celebrate with a surprise drop.
It's no secret that the Sneedville megastar has a track record of surprise-releasing new music on key holidays, as we saw with ‘Smile’ (New Year's Eve), ‘Thought You Should Know’ (Mother's Day)’ and ‘Don't Think Jesus’ (Good Friday), for instance.
What's more, fatherhood is a prevalent theme throughout I'm the Problem, most notably on ‘Superman’, which Wallen penned for his son, Indigo, but also on ‘Revelation’, which features the haunting lyric, “I'm a father and a son who needs that holy ghost”.
If Morgan Wallen is plotting something for Father's Day, then, if we let our imagination run wild, it could be anything from a new vinyl variant - possibly a ‘Superman’ edition - that includes the letter from Wallen's father, to a deluxe version of the album.
The latter might not be as outlandish a notion as it might seem for an artist who has just released 37-song project, because Wallen did seem to hint via X (formerly Twitter) that he might be recording a full-length version of his I'm the Problem ‘Interlude’. We were enchanted by this brief track, and we'd love to hear an expanded take.
The mystery of this letter from Morgan Wallen's father does seem to point towards some kind of Sunday surprise. With the country titan's I'm the Problem Tour launching the following weekend in Houston, Texas, a new vinyl, deluxe or some other treat would also add an extra boost of momentum heading into those opening shows.
It's entirely possible, of course, that we're reading too much into this, and the only thing planned for Father's Day is something along the lines of a standard merchandise sale.
But, we have to say, our gut is agreeing with the westERN Wallenteer on this. Morgan Wallen knows just how highly attuned to his easter eggs and cryptic clues his loyal fanbase is, and with his history of holiday releases, the pivotal role of fatherhood on I'm the Problem and the absent letter from his father, we think something's afoot...
