Following their insightful interview for Apple Music Country, Chappell Roan gave Kelleigh Bannen a heartwarming gift to thank her for taking the time to discuss her new single.

Ahead of the arrival of the pop phenom's debut country release, ‘The Giver’, Chappell Roan appeared on Today's Country with Kelleigh Bannen to delve into the inspiration behind the infectious track and express her deep-seated admiration for the genre.

In a new Instagram post, Bannen has thanked Roan for gifting her a customised denim jacket, with the now-iconic lyric from ‘The Giver’ emblazoned across the back: ‘I get the job done’.

It's a thoughtful gesture from Chappell Roan, and reenforces how generous and kind the ‘Pink Pony Club’ hitmaker came across during her discussion with Kelleigh Bannen.

During their interview, the duo touched on a variety of topics, with Bannen speaking to Holler about how excited she is that Roan is venturing in the country world, “I never imagined that we would have a Chappell Roan project to talk about - a song to talk about. Obviously, it's just a single right now. I'm crossing my fingers there might be a handful of other songs on this album that could live in our world, but she said she's keeping it loose right now. She's not making any commitments!”

Kelleigh Bannen endearingly went on, “I was truly surprised by how warm, vulnerable and candid Chappell was. When you're with someone with such a bombastic stage presence - and she's such a character on stage, she suits up with the hair, the makeup and the outfits - I wasn't sure if she could just do the human-to-human”.

Bannen concluded, “But she was so incredibly revealing about herself. She was funny, she was playful and she was cracking jokes. It was really a delight. Maybe this speaks to my own suspicions of what pop-stars are generally like. I tend to think our country people are pretty down-to-earth and easy to talk to, and I don't know that I assumed a huge pop-star would be quite as easy-going as she was”.

While chatting to Kelleigh Bannen, Chappell Roan explained where the idea for ’The Giver’ - which finds Roan playfully dismissing country boys’ abilities in the bedroom, and promising that she, by contrast, never struggles to “get the job done” - came about.

The ‘Hot to Go!’ maverick reflected, “I just thought it would be funny. It's campy and it's fun. I'm from southwest Missouri, grew up on Christian and country and then found ‘Alejandro’ by Lady Gaga. And I was like, "I think I like this too". So I have kept country in my heart and it's so incredibly nostalgic to drive in West Hollywood and have Jason Aldean, or Alan Jackson, ‘Chattahoochee’”.

Chappell Roan gushed, “And I love how... “Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy).” I was like, "How can I...?" I want to feel that way on stage. I want to feel that because that's how I write. I'm like, "How do I want to walk around on stage and sing?" And I was like, "I want to write that song, but, like, Chappell's version””.

It's safe to say we share Kelleigh Bannen's delight at seeing Chappell Roan making her foray into the country space, and given how addictive ‘The Giver’ is, we'll certainly be keeping our fingers crossed that more is on the way from Roan in a similar vein.
