If anyone has made a name for themselves in country in the latter half of 2024, it's Texan singer-songwriter Hudson Westbrook.
These past six months have seen the artist from Stephenville, TX release a steady flow of viral smashes. It kicked off with 'Take It Slow' back in April, before blowing up with the amorous croon that is '5 To 9'.
The kids got a knack for a hook, and boy does his charm come through in droves. It's certainly working, with each new single securing at least 1m streams on Spotify, including the immediate smash 'House Again', which only came out a month ago (October 18) but is already at 6m streams and counting.
Now, Westbrook is cementing his place with the release of his debut self-titled EP, a seven-track collection of smash hits that wouldn't be amiss on a few end of year lists this late in the day.
"So far, everything has been instant with my music career, and a lot has changed in my life quickly,” Westbrook revealed in a statement upon the release of the project today (November 15).
“As an artist, everything around you changes constantly, but the most important thing is keeping constants in your life. Over the last six months, I’ve learned the value of time. When you’re with the people who mean the most to you, it’s important to make the most of it.”
What's most apparent about Westbrook is his belief in what he's creating and how much he values those around him supporting and investing in his creative endeavours. “When writing these tracks for the EP, I was reflecting on how I pray for the important people in my life, whether we are together or apart," Westbrook explains.
"The unwavering support from my fans has given me the confidence to release this project, and I believe these songs truly represent who I am as an artist. I hope they provide a special experience for listeners.”
