One of country music’s living legends, George Strait, organised a benefit on 27th July for victims of the catastrophic flooding in Texas Hill Country.

The ‘Strait To The Heart’ event hosted donors and fellow musicians to provide an evening of entertainment and fundraising to help those directly affected by the disaster.

In early July 2025, Texas Hill Country experienced flash flooding that caused destruction and devastation, claiming over 130 lives. As communities pulled together to rebuild the areas that were hit, Strait and his Vaqueros del Mar partner held an ‘Intimate Donor Dinner and Concert’ to raise funds to support those in need.

With the help of friends like Jamey Johnson, Riley Green, Randy Houser, Hudson Westbrook and more, Strait put together a night to remember. Complete with an extra special surprise guest, Garth Brooks, the evening was filled with good vibes, generosity and hope for the rebuilding of Texas Hill Country.

The event was capped at 1000 guests and tickets started at $1000 - which might seem steep but to see all of those artists in a venue that small all in one night for such a cause…we’d say that was pretty priceless.

Hailing from Poteet, Strait is a Texas boy and so it’s no surprise that this benefit was one very close to his heart. The ‘Strait From The Heart’ singer posted a highlights reel on his social media, captioning it, “the event served as both a heartfelt tribute to the resilient spirit of the region and a critical fundraiser to provide immediate relief to impacted families.”

The grand total is still climbing and donations can still be made - just visit the Strait to The Heart fundraising page for more information.
