After teasing a major announcement, George Strait has revealed what he has in store for 2026 - and it's a doozy. The King of Country will headline the first concert at Death Valley since 1999, with support from Cody Johnson and Wyatt Flores.
Strait will take the stage at South Carolina's Memorial Stadium on Saturday, May 2nd 2026, with the ‘Carried Away’ hitmaker performing ‘in the round’ in the centre of the field.
Ahead of the blockbuster unveiling, the Texas legend - who boasts over 40 Billboard Hot Country No. 1 hits in his unrivalled catalogue - has stressed how excited he is to return to Memorial Stadium next year, “Going back to Death Valley for the first time in more than 25 years feels pretty special. Can’t wait to see you, Clemson!”
Aptly, the last concert to be held at this legendary venue was George Strait's Country Music Festival, featuring the likes of Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw and The Chicks.
It'll be a momentous return, with fans set to battle it out for coveted tickets to this historic, star-studded show when they go on-sale on Friday, October 31st at 10am ET.
Although Strait stepped away from full-scale tours in 2014 with his emotional The Cowboy Rides Away farewell, he has ensured fans are still able to witness the ‘Nobody In His Right Mind Would've Left Her’ crooner's array of chart-toppers live through his hugely popular stadium shows with Chris Stapleton in recent years.
Along with classics such as ‘Amarillo By Morning’ and ‘All My Ex's Live in Texas’, those lucky enough to get their hands on tickets to Strait's 2026 Memorial Stadium show will be looking forward to hearing stand-outs from the country icon's new album, Cowboys And Dreamers, such as ‘MIA Down in MIA’ and ‘Three Drinks Behind’.
