Luke Combs has teased another new track from his upcoming album on his social media and fans – and fellow artists – are loving it.

“Got this back from the studio a little earlier today. Figured I’d go ahead and give y’all a listen to see what you think, “the ‘Hurricane’ singer captioned his audio clip on social media, as he sang:

"Back in the saddle like some old cowboy

Who dug his way out of his grave

Pulled up his boots, put his pistol on his hip

Climbed up and took hold of the reins

Don’t worry where I’ve been

I’m back in the saddle again"

Combs released Fathers & Sons last year (2024) and although it peaked at No.2 on the US country charts, it didn’t pick up as much momentum with fans as his previous records.

Could ‘Back in the Saddle’ be the beginning of Combs’ big return with a blockbuster album? He teased the track for the first time a couple of days ago with an acoustic rendition, but he’s been dropping hints for a while.

Sharing pictures of his recent studio time around a week ago, he captioned them ‘Back in the Saddle’, alongside a video where he thanked fans for his time off with his family and said that he was ‘back in the saddle’ in the studio.

He noted that there was an Easter Egg in the messages regarding new music that will one day make sense. Now, six weeks later, we think we’ve found it. We had the title of the next track right in front of us.

Written with Jonathon Singleton and The Brothers Hunt (hosts of God’s Country Podcast), the track hits hard with Combs’ signature heavier beats and is primed to be a summer scorcher.

Now, Gareth wants in. Commenting on the video posted on social media, the upcoming Irish country sensation asked, ‘need a duet partner for it?? 👀”

While Gareth’s comment was clearly playful, we were all prettty quick to back the idea — with many of us chiming in to say the rising Irish star would be a perfect match for the gritty, country-driven anthem.

Fresh off his own breakout year, Gareth has been making waves with a blend of country-folk songwriting and modern storytelling, drawing comparisons to a younger Luke himself. Whether it’s a long shot or not, his bold ask is proof he’s ready to ride alongside the big names.

And honestly? We wouldn’t be mad at a ‘Back in the Saddle’ duet cut.

It's not the first time Gareth has gotten enthusiastic about the idea either —back when he was first emerging in 2024, the young artist playfully covered Combs’ 'When It Rains It Pours' on TikTok, sparking excitement:

That short clip, which has over 22,000 likes, shows just how ready Gareth’s fans are to see him team up with Luke—adding genuine energy to the conversation around 'Back In The Saddle'.

Adding fuel to the fire at the time was famous British breakdancer and Britian's Got Talent contender George Sampson, who commented; "Not many people can sing the combs, this guy can".

Now we're not saying there's any chance this is set to happen, but hey - why not will it into existence, right?
