As the anticipation reaches fever-pitch for Trey Pendley's new Podunk EP, the Arkansas native is premiering one of the project's many stand-outs, ‘As Good As It Gets’, with Holler.

Pendley performed the sweet, endearing offering during his enchanting Holler Nashville Session late last year, with fans clamouring for an official studio version ever since.

Thankfully, we don't have to wait any longer, with Pendley sharing the fully produced rendition of ’As Good As It Gets’ exclusively via Holler ahead of his six-song Podunk EP.

The track finds Pendley leaning into his penchant for classic, steel-soaked country music, with the ‘Drunk As Any Rich Man’ singer-songwriter serenading his partner about the beauty of the little things in life across a wonderfully pared-down instrumental.

The stripped-back composition mirrors the appealing simplicity and we've-got-all-we-need attitude of the narrative. Pendley admits the bills keep climbing higher and his truck tires desperately need replacing, but warmly reassures his partner that as long as they've got each other and their blossoming family, they have no reason to complain (“We may be broke / But we ain't broken / Might go up in smoke / But not the kind we're rolling / Can't grow apart / Sleeping in a twin size bed”).

It's an uplifting, comforting message accentuated by the gentle, easygoing strum of the guitar and the galvanising drum pattern, which combine with Pendley's stellar vocals.

‘As Good As It Gets’ cements Pendley's one-to-watch status for 2026, with the fast-emerging artist serving up a vibrant and unashamedly country collection of songs on Podunk.

After securing a coveted writing credit on Luke Combs’ evocative new ode, ‘15 Minutes’, Pendley has more eyes - and ears - trained on him than ever. And with the arrival of ’As Good As It Gets’ and the wider Poduck project, it's safe to say he doesn't disappoint.

“Money's tight, diapers still need changing

I can hear those wolves gathering 'round my door

Insurance ain't doing a thing but we keep paying

Hell, even living is more than I can afford

-

We may be broke

But we ain't broken

Might go up in smoke

But not the kind we're rolling

Can't grow apart

Sleeping in a twin size bed

Baby look around here

That's as good as it gets

-

I've been riding round this town on four bald tires

Praying to God they'll just get us home

The bills on the table keep on stackin' higher (good Lord)

But at least we ain't doing it alone

-

We may be broke

But we ain't broken

Might go up in smoke

But not the kind we're rolling

Might have a leak

But there's a roof over our head

Baby look around here

That's as good as it gets

-

Oh we may be broke

But we ain't broken

Might go up in smoke

Not the kind we're rolling

We can't grow apart

Sleeping in a twin size bed

Baby, look around here

That's as good as it gets

-

Oh baby, look around here

That's as good as it gets”
