These are dark times we’re living through. It’s hard out there. Everywhere you look there’s something else that could easily drag you down if you let it. It’s times like these though that we need music more than ever.
That’s something that Kendall Tucker and Jelly Roll know only too well.
Country rap’s finest puts on a brave face and partners up with State of Mine and Jelly Roll - no stranger to themes of pain, struggle and redemption himself – with a meaty slab of dirty horrorcore country that sounds like a cross between Lil Tracy and Soundgarden or Alice in Chains.
"There's a lot of people in this world hurting,” Tucker told us about the song. “Everyone has their own demons they battle. Some people show it while others try to cover it up with a smile. I couldn't think of a better artist than Jelly Roll to have on this song. Jelly continues to bring hope to hurting people.”
“With this collaboration, we just want the people to know that they are not alone. You may feel like you're getting dragged down but don't give up, you'll get through this."
Growing up in Ocala, Florida - the Horse Capital of the World - you can’t help but stem from country roots, and Kendall Tucker takes his influence as much from Eminem as he does Randy Travis, combining country and rap to make some of the most unique music you've ever heard. He has recorded and worked with names such as Colt Ford, Jelly Roll, Project Pat, Bubba Sparxxx, Craig Campbell and many more.
‘Dragging Me Down’ by Kendall Tucker, State of Mine and Jelly Roll is exclusively premiering on Holler below.
‘Dragging Me Down’ is available everywhere on August 25th.
