Originally from Morecroft, WY, Chancey Williams is a bronc rider-turned-neo-traditional country sensation, coming from a long line of real-life cowboys. After kicking off the year with the release of 'The Ballad Of Uncle Don,' an autobiographical tune about his actual Uncle Don, the singer looks loosely to his own father for inspiration on new single, 'Pearl Snap Preacher.'

"You may not see him in a church pew when the sabbath rolls around / 'cos he’s the pastor in the pasture on the other side of town," he sings in the reflective, soul stirring country spiritual as he depicts a man who prefers to show his faith out on the open range. "He’s riding in that saddle ‘stead of sitting in that chapel / His faith begins with two boots on the ground."

Book ended by a voice over from his father set to old black and white home movie footage of Williams' parents on their ranch, the song is a heartfelt testament to the relationships that inspire us and instil faith in us.

"He’s close to his redeemer out on the open range / Wearing dirt and verses on his rolled-up sleeves / For a pearl snap preacher, that’s the only way to believe."

The video for 'Pearl Snap Preacher' even stars his own father, Dennis Williams, capturing him working on the ranch and sitting on the front porch with his wife and Chancey William's mother, Grace.

"We had a blast making the video for 'Pearl Snap Preacher,'" Williams shared about the video for the song. "My dad is the star of it! He does go to church on a regular basis but, in other ways, is very much like the guy in the song. A lot of who I am as a person, I learned from watching my dad and working on the ranch with him, as much as listening to him or specifically what he said."

Saddle Bronc athlete-turned neo-traditional country music sensation Chancey Williams, has gone from competing on horseback to performing on center stage. As one of only two artists (along with Chris LeDoux) to both compete in the rodeo and perform on the main stage at Cheyenne Frontier Days and the only singer/songwriter to be endorsed by CINCH®, Williams is the next authentic cowboy of country music.

The northeastern Wyoming native has toured the nation, taking the stage ahead of headliners Toby Keith, Cody Johnson, Alan Jackson, Dierks Bentley and Parker McCollum, performing at a sold-out Ryman Auditorium, as well as headlining at The National Finals Rodeo and making his Grand Ole Opry debut.

It's been two years since the release of his last studio album, One of These Days, in 2023 but hopefully this flurry of new music is a sign that there'll be another new full-length record coming soon. Catch Williams on his Miles On Me Tour throughout July, which sees the cowboy playing headlining shows across the western half of the United States.

'Pearl Snap Preacher' is released on Younger Brothers Records on 13 June
