It might still be a week out from Valentine's Day, but love is already very much in the air for Adam Chaffins in the video for his latest single, 'Trailer Trash.'
As someone raised in a doublewide trailer in Eastern Kentucky, the video tells a story Adam Chaffins knows only too well - about a hardworking person who wants to be seen as more than where they come from. Starring his wife and collaborator Brit Taylor (and their dogs!) as a down-on-her-luck driver bringing her broken down car into Chaffins' garage as serendipity steps in and romance blossoms between Chaffins and Taylor (and their dogs) in a very real modern-day Romeo & Juliet story only; with a happier ending (and dogs).
The second single to be taken from his forthcoming Trailer Trash EP, the title track is a steaming slice of creamy country soul that sounds like a lost outtake from Dan Penn's Nobody's Fool. With a sound as deep and smooth as his beguiling baritone, 'Trailer Trash' is the kind of rich and refined southern soul that would have poured out of Muscle Shoals in the late '60s but given just enough contemporary touches to feel completely current.
“Trailer Trash” is a country soul odyssey of why not to judge a book by its cover, a man by his home or the dirt on his jeans," says Chaffins about the song. "My roots began in a doublewide trailer in East Kentucky off US 23, and I’ve never thought any less of myself because of that. This song is an anthem to everyone who knows they’ve got the goods, no matter what the world thinks. It was a true dream to bring this song to life, recording with renowned players at Nashville’s legendary Sound Emporium studios.”
Produced by Frank Rogers, who’s helmed 28 number ones including hits for Brad Paisley, Josh Turner and Darius Rucker, the single follows recent releases 'Layaway Momma' and 'Little Bit at a Time.'
