As rumours of an imminent Morgan Wallen collaboration gather intensity, Drake continues to show love to the country music world. Just this week, for instance, the rap titan has thrown his son, Adonis, a Wild West, cowboy-inspired eighth birthday party.
A clip has circulated online from the adorable function, with Drake, Adonis and Adonis’ mother, Sophie Brusseaux, posing behind a gigantic cake. The layers feature a cow-print at the top, a lasso on the layer below and a set of cowboy boots sat proudly at the bottom alongside a layer made to look like blue jeans with a belt buckle.
Drake, Adonis and Sophie all stay endearingly true to the theme with head-to-toe denim, with the cake positioned on a saloon-style barrel, surrounded by a mass of hay.
It's the latest in a string of nods to country culture from the ‘God's Plan’ hitmaker, with Drake emerging on-stage in Berlin earlier in the summer in a Morgan Wallen jersey, just months after walking out with Wallen for the latter's Houston show.
We think both Drake and Wallen have been dropping hints that they have a collaboration in the tank, perhaps featuring on the self-proclaimed 6 God’s new album, ICEMAN.
They first joined forces for Drake's ‘You Broke My Heart’ music video back in December 2023, so perhaps we could get something on the two-year anniversary of that now-iconic link up. With Wallen often blurring the lines between country and trap and Drake known for his sonic versatility, we think a joint track would be a colossal smash, and would surely secure the Toronto rapper his long-time Billboard Hot 100 objective of overtaking Michael Jackson with 14 No. 1s.
