Dolly Parton and Las Vegas. It's a pairing that just makes sense, with the country legend's rhinstoned personality and the Sin City's indulgent identity begging to collide. Yet, the 'Jolene' hitmaker hasn't graced the Las Vegas Strip with a run of shows in 32 years. That is, until now.
Parton recently announced that she will be headed to Vegas at the end of this year, plotting a six-night residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for what will undoubtedly be a dazzling showcase she was made to perform.
She is slated to take The Colosseum stage on Dec. 4, 6, 7, 10, 12 and 13, and is set to satiate fans with seven-decades-worth of hits, including untouchable classics like ‘9 to 5,’ ‘I Will Always Love You’, ‘Coat of Many Colors' and beyond.
"To say I'm excited would be an understatement," the icon shared in a press release. "I haven't worked in Vegas in years and I've always loved singing there."
Concert performances from the legend have been few and far between in recent years, with the star opting out of touring her latest studio album, Rockstar.
In a 2023 interview with Good Housekeeping, the artist revealed that she had no plans to hit the road in the future, stating "I don't tour anymore. I've got so many business things I'm doing. And my husband and I are getting older — he's a little older than I am — and I kind of need to be with him."
Parton retreated from the public eye earlier this year, following the death of her husband, Carl Dean, in March. She honored her spouse and their 60-year-long marriage with the release of the moving song, 'If You Hadn't Been There'.
With this upcoming residency, fans could be treated to several live debuts from the Rockstar collection and potentially a first-time live showcase of the recent heartfelt single, in addition to Parton's many genre-defining songs.
While we don't yet know what all the residency will entail, we feel sure these upcoming performances will be endlessly glamorous, deliriously charming and 100 per cent Dolly.
Tickets for the limited run engagement will go on sale beginning Wednesday, (June 25) at 10 a.m. Pacific.
