Dolly Parton has announced that she will be postponing her Las Vegas residency to 2026, with the country icon citing “health challenges” as the reason for this delay.
It comes after Parton was forced to cancel an appearance at Dollywood earlier in the month, with the ‘9 to 5’ hitmaker explaining that she'd been diagnosed with a kidney stone.
It's unclear if this is the issue that has caused Parton to postpone her shows at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which were originally slated to take place in December 2025. The new run of performances will stretch from September 17th to 26th, 2026.
In a post, Parton confirms, “I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts. As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it's not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”
She expands, “In all seriousness, given this, I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you”.
Parton then reassures fans that this is not going to lead to the end of her storied musical career, “While I’ll still be able to work on all of my projects from here in Nashville, I just need a little time to get show ready, as they say. And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding”.
Fans and fellow artists are now flooding Parton's comments section with well wishes, with Katy Perry gushing, “We love you so much ♥️ you got this!”, while Margo Price heartwarmingly pays homage, “We love you Dolly! You’re an inspiration to humanity”.
It's been a tough year for the Queen of Country, with Parton losing her husband of almost 60 years, Carl Dean, in March. Parton is now gearing up to release her eagerly anticipated new book, Star of the Show: My Life on Stage, on November 11th, 2025.
