Conner Smith has earned the first official No. 1 on the UK Country Radio chart for his uptempo anthem, ‘Creek Will Rise’, which features on his celebrated 2024 album, Smoky Mountains.
The infectious, tongue-in-cheek track finds the Tennessee singer-songwriter willing the river banks to burst and the road ahead to become obstructed during a ferocious storm, so that he can spend a romantic night out in the woods with his partner.
‘Creek Will Rise’ earned 821,385 impressions in the tracking period for the debut iteration of the UK Country Radio chart, which was officially announced on Friday (March 8, 2024). The impressions were earned across five stations, with ‘Creek Will Rise’ notably the only song this week to be played across this many outlets.
The fast-emerging artist showcased his charismatic vocals and deft storytelling ability when he performed ‘Creek Will Rise’ at C2C Festival 2024 as part of the Introducing Nashville writers’ round, alongside Lauren Watkins and Karley Scott Collins.
Hot on the heels of ‘Creek Will Rise’ is Cody Johnson's stripped-back ode to his wife, ‘The Painter’, which recently reached the No. 1 spot on the US Country Radio chart.
Warren Zeiders’ temptation-laced ‘Pretty Little Poison’ sits at No. 3 on the UK Country Radio chart, followed by Jordan Davis’ beat-driven heartbreak track, ‘Tucson Too Late’.
Completing the chart's first ever Top 5 is Ashley Cooke's ‘your place’, an intricate, introspective offering taken from her widely lauded 2023 debut album, shot in the dark.
