Reports have emerged suggesting that Conner Smith may have been involved in a fatal road incident, according to information released by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
According to an official media release from the department, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle on 3rd Avenue North near Van Buren Street in Nashville, Tennessee on the night of Sunday, June 8. The victim has been identified as 77-year-old Dorothy Dobbins.
Initial findings indicate that the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck – identified as 24-year-old Conner Smith – reportedly failed to yield at a marked crosswalk where Dobbins was crossing. She was struck at approximately 7:30 p.m. and transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she later died.
The police report states that Smith showed no signs of impairment, and the investigation remains ongoing. No charges have been filed at this time.
While unconfirmed by Smith or his representatives, TMZ was the first outlet to report that the driver involved is believed to be the country singer Conner Smith. His instagram account has since been set to restrict public comments.
