We've had Anne Wilson's third studio album, Stars, on repeat ever since the Kentucky maverick dropped it back in October. But while we've been enjoying each offering on the stellar project, one song in particular has been gaining some traction online.

‘Still Do’, the penultimate track on the record before the heart-rending ‘Twenty-Three’ (which made it into Holler's 2025 Songs of the Year), is a beautifully intricate and soul-searching ode to those who yearn to be closer to God, but worry they're too far gone.

Across an atmospheric, evocative piano instrumental, Wilson croons reassuringly, “Momma's voice keeps ringing in my ears / Talk to Jesus, you know He hears / You can go and make a million wrong turns / It only takes one to turn back home”.

Particularly in the Contemporary Christian Music space, it can often feel as though the artists sharing their testimony are already 100% perfect, pristine and faultless.

This is what makes ‘Still Do’ all the more moving, as the ‘Rain in the Rearview’ singer-songwriter steps into the shoes of a protagonist who doubts whether God still loves them. This vulnerability is intended to offer comfort for those in a similar situation.

Under a video of a recent acoustic rendition of ‘Still Do’, country hitmaker Cole Swindell has taken to the comments to emphasise how much he's enjoying the soulful ballad, gushing, “Dang. Had this on repeat when it first came out. Turns out, I still do”.

Wilson has since shared a new clip of the track in response to Swindell's compliments, with the thankful caption, “I’m so glad this song is connecting with so many of y’all”.

We're wondering if this is more than an off-hand comment, and if Wilson is teasing a reimagined version of ‘Still Do’, featuring a blockbuster set of guest vocals from Swindell.

We'll have to wait and see whether Wilson and Swindell continue their heartwarming back-and-forth. Either way, we're just glad ‘Still Do’ is getting the love it deserves, and we hope it leads more listeners to discover Wilson's vibrant new album, Stars.
