Charley Crockett is back, and he's got a bone to pick.

Having only released the Companion Album to $10 Cowboy, Visions of Dallas back in July, Mr Crockett has returned with a brand new single, the barbed 'Hey Mr. Nashville'.

While Charley has never been afraid to rally against the conformity and corporation of Music City and the genre on the whole, this particular release feels even more sharper and pointed than any that's come before from 'The Man From Waco'.

As lilting chords and mournful, gospel keys layer a bittersweet hopefulness across the track, Crockett bites with venom into a seemingly unsavoury character, one that represents, in Charley's eyes, "the only thing you need to know about Nashville, Tennessee".

"When you talk bad about Austin, you're talking down to me; Hey Mr. Nashville, you're not even from Tennessee" Charley spits with a largely apathetic drawl, before the band chug into celebratory gospel claps and repetition of the definitive refrain "that's all you need to know about Nashville".

As per most years since 2015, it's been a busy one for Crockett. Alongside the release of the critically acclaimed $10 Cowboy and it's accompanying part II, Visions of Dallas, Crockett received his first Grammy nomination for the aforementioned record on Friday (November 8).

In response to receiving the nod, Crockett stated on social media, "I'm not here for awards, but it does feel good to know folks are taking notice".

Crockett also had further reason for celebration last month, as he got married to his partner of five years, Taylor Day Grace, at Willie Nelson's Luck Ranch in Texas.

Things aren't slowing down anytime soon for Crockett, as 2025 kicks off with dates supporting Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats across dates in the US and Canada.
