Carrie Underwood’s My Savior has topped country and christian charts upon its release.

The record has debuted at number one on the Billboard charts, making Underwood the only country artist to achieve nine consecutive albums to debut at number one since the start of her career.

Seven songs from My Savior debuted on the Country Songs Track chart: ‘How Great Thou Art’, ‘Amazing Grace’, ‘Just As I Am’, ‘Because He Lives’, ‘Victory In Jesus’, ‘The Old Rugged Cross’ and ‘Blessed Assurance’.

Underwood's virtual concert event My Savior: Live From The Ryman, which streamed live globally on Facebook on Easter Sunday (April 4) from the iconic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville was also a huge success for the star.

Fans can still watch the performance, which benefitted Save the Children, as it will remain exclusively on Facebook for a limited time.

'My Savior’ consists of covers of some of Underwood’s favorite traditional gospel hymns in a unique pastiche of musical styles from classic country to folk, bluegrass, and gospel.

The record was produced by Underwood and Grammy award-winning producer David Garcia, who also produced Underwood’s Cry Pretty.
