Carrie Underwood has announced that she will be releasing a brand new gospel album, My Savior, to be released on March 26.

Following on from her hugely successful Christmas record My Gift, Underwood has said that the follow up will be its companion album: "I basically didn’t want all of that to end. I felt like my soul was in such a great place, I wanted to keep making music like the music off of My Gift".

My Savior will feature a collection of gospel hymns that Underwood spent singing during her childhood. "I’ve been making music that I love and been giving my heart to the Lord", she says. The album will mark her ninth full-length release.

Underwood has sold more than 64 million records worldwide and has recorded 27 #1 singles. She emerged from the promise of her 2005 American Idol win to become a true multi-format, multi-media superstar, spanning achievements in music, television, film, and now books, as a New York Times bestselling author.
