Carrie Underwood has announced a livestream concert, set to air on Easter Sunday.
The country superstar will take to the stage at the Ryman Auditorium for My Savior: Live From The Ryman, which will be streamed on her facebook page on April 4th.
This follows the 7-time Grammy award winner’s latest gospel record called My Savior, which is available globally on March 26th.
Joining the three-time ACM Entertainer of the Year will be CeCe Winans and NEEDTOBREATHE frontman Bear Rinehart, as well as gospel and harmonica legend Buddy Greene, and 10-time CMA Musician of the Year Mac McAnally - both of whom feature on the record.
My Savior consists of covers of some of Underwood’s favourite traditional gospel hymns in a unique pastiche of musical styles, from classic country to folk, bluegrass, and gospel.
It was produced by Underwood and Grammy award winning producer David Garcia, who Underwood worked with on her 2018 record Cry Pretty.
Speaking of the event Underwood said “This is an album I have always wanted to record and I’m thrilled to be able to bring these uplifting, inspirational songs to life in this special way”.
The event is free but donations will be accepted and will benefit Save the Children.
