Cameron Whitcomb recently paid tribute to The Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, sharing the story of his first tattoo on social media yesterday.
The ‘Hundred Mile High’ singer offered a close up look at the ink on his Instagram Story. The image was overlaid with text that read: “fun fact, my first tattoo ever was Black Sabbath’s fallen angel. Sincerely heartbroken by the news of Ozzys passing. My condolences to his family. Rest in peace Prince 🖤 you will be missed.”
Whitcomb’s music definitely carries influences of rock as he smashes those heavier guitars and drums, not forgetting the backflip-worthy drops he’s famous for.
Even before taking the country world by storm, though, he was honouring the Black Sabbath frontman, posting covers of the band's classics, like 'War Pig' and 'Changes', to TikTok.
Whitcomb hasn't been the only one to toast the Prince over the last 24 hours.
The country music community, as a whole, has been coming together in the past couple of days to remember such an iconic artist. While Osbourne famously spurned a country crossover–he referenced the absurdity of the Prince of Darkness in a cowboy hat back in a 2016 Rolling Stone interview–that hasn’t stopped the outpouring of love for the rock legend from artists all across the genre and beyond.
