There are some lovely friendships in the modern country music world - Kenny Chesney and Megan Moroney's mentor-mentee relationship, for instance, along with Blake Shelton and Luke Bryans’ hilarious, jokingly-love-hate attitude towards one another.

But it's hard to find a friendship more heartwarming than Jelly Roll and Brandon Lake at the moment, with the duo continuing to show up for one another after dropping their titanic, faith-filled collaboration, ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah’, in February 2025.

Epitomising how close the artists have become was the fact that Jelly Roll decided to get a matching tattoo with Brandon Lake, following their momentous, soul-stirring performance of ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah’ at CMA Fest 2025 this weekend.

On his forearm, Jelly Roll now has a tattoo of a capital ‘K’ above a love-heart, symbolising Brandon Lake's new studio album, King Of Hearts, which drops on June 13th. Lake has an identical tattoo, with Jelly's decision to get the same image showcasing once again how supportive he has been of the former's foray into country music.

Taking the Nissan Stadium stage, Brandon Lake kicked off ‘Hard Fought Hallelujah’ by himself, with Jelly Roll later sharing a video of him watching the solo performance, gushing, “Look at Brandon taking Nissan Stadium to Church right now!”

As Jelly Roll then emerged and the duo serenaded the audience with the genre-blending, Christian-country earworm, a dazzling hologram of the cross lit up in the night sky.

It's hard not to feel goosebumps when hearing this evocative track live. Just last month, as Jelly Roll performed the moving track at Post Malone's Big Ass Stadium Tour-stop in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a double-rainbow appeared over the stadium.

After this powerful CMA Fest 2025 debut, with Brandon Lake also delivering a stellar set at the Chevy Riverfront Stage, which included his viral hit, ‘Gratitude’, we can't wait to hear what the Texas trailblazer has in store for the rest of his King Of Hearts album.
