It was recently announced that Black Deer Festival will be taking a break from the 2025 festival season. The Kent-based Americana affair has been postponed, expecting to make its return in 2026.

Festival organizers took to social media to announce the unfortunate news, citing concerns like unpredictable ticket sales and rising production costs as the reason for the respite.

“It is with a heavy heart that we share the news: after seven incredible years, Black Deer Festival 2025 has been postponed," they shared in a post, explaining further, "The challenges facing independent festivals has been immense. Rising production costs, unpredictable ticket sales, and an increasingly difficult landscape during 2023 and 2024 have made it impossible for us to move forward with next year's event."

In the post, officials go on to explain how they are preparing for a momentous event in 2025, gearing up for a bigger and better return.

Black Deer Live and Black Deer Radio will continue to operate.

In the past, Black Deer Festival has played host to the best of the best in country and Americana, welcoming acts like Bonnie Raitt, Willi Carlisle, Nathanial Rateliff, Stephen Wilson Jr., Wilco, Van Morrison, Cam and more.

The 2024 event, especially, saw performances from Sheryl Crow with Joe Bonamassa, Dylan Gossett, The Shires and more.
