Bailey Zimmerman makes music for the good times and the bad. His latest offering, the forthcoming 'Hell or High Water', is a song for the latter, a reminder to listeners that storms pass and skies clear.
"Whatever is going on in yalls life, I just hope this song gives you a sense peace and gives you hope because it does get better," the artist shared on social media upon first announcing the new track. "AND to those of yall that are on the greener side of the battle… i hope this song makes you realize it was only high water." In closing, he added: "God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers".
The 'Holy Smokes' hitmaker recently offered a taste of the upcoming tune, which is set for an official release on Friday (May 24). In a reel on his Instagram, Zimmerman can be seen sitting on a seaside barrier will the ocean tossing gently behind him, singing the chorus of the sincere song.
"I know it ain't gonna be no easy ride," he croons against a pensive twinkle of strings. "And what doesn't kills you makes you stronger / But I'm running out of places I can hide/ And everyday it's like the nights get longer / When I close my eyes, yeah, the waves get high and the flames get hotter / So I'm asking myself 'cuz I can't tell if this is hell or just high water".
The song is set to be a part of the powerhouse soundtrack to the upcoming Twisters movie. Luke Combs, Lainey Wilson, Tyler Childers, Megan Moroney and many, many more stars are set to appear on the blockbuster score.
'Hell or High Water' will join Luke Combs' freshly released ‘Ain't No Love in Oklahoma’ on the soundtrack, a project that will see further contributions from country superstars like Shania Twain, Thomas Rhett, Kane Brown and Miranda Lambert, as well as incoming favorites like The Red Clay Strays, Wyatt Flores, Tanner Adell and several others.
