Bailey Zimmerman gave his Sand in My Boots Festival 2025 set an added lustre last night (Sunday, May 18th) when the ‘Religiously’ hitmaker debuted his new song, ‘Coming in Cold’.
The heartbroken offering, which finds Bailey Zimmerman lamenting the hold an old flame continues to have on him across one of his trademark brooding, stormy instrumentals, is set to feature on the Illinois prodigy's forthcoming studio album.
When introducing the new track on the Sand in My Boots Festival 2025 stage in Gulf Shores, Alabama, Bailey Zimmerman explained to the packed-out crowd what inspired the song.
He outlined how there was someone “that I can't seem to get away from. She just keeps ruining it, man. She just keeps messing me up. So if you got somebody like that in your life, this one goes out to you. This song is called, ‘Coming in Cold’”.
It comes hot on the heels of the ‘Rock and a Hard Place’ singer-songwriter's revelation that his keenly awaited sophomore album is finished. Bailey Zimmerman took to socials last week to excitedly announce, “Tell your grandma, tell your friends, tell your momma… tell everybody you know...My new album is officially done...and In my opinion… all of this new music that y’all are about to hear is some of my best work yet!! It feels so real and so true to what my life has been the last 2 years… I’m feeling really freakin nervous but at the same time I couldn’t be more excited to start sharing everything we’ve been cookin up”.
He then confirmed he'd be teasing a brand new song today (Monday, May 19th), which we suspect - and hope - will be a snippet of the studio version of ‘Coming in Cold’.
Later in the evening, Bailey Zimmerman emerged on-stage during Morgan Wallen's headline set for a live-wire performance of Wallen's rowdy early smash, ‘Up Down’.
