First, it was Luke Combs. Then came Diplo. Now, Bailey Zimmerman has teamed up with pop hitmaker The Kid LAROI for his latest collaboration.
The pair have joined forces for the song, 'Lost', a number likely set to appear on the country hypeman's sophomore album, Different Night Same Rodeo. While the collaboration was announced last week, they just took to social media to tease a snippet of the unbridled tune with fans.
The pop-country offering, filled with emphatic rhythms and meaty riffs, seems to be about what many Zimmerman songs of late have been about: heartbreak.
In the teaser, the pair can be seen singing along with the track, belting, "My mind's spinning out of control / I can’t sleep when I'm sleeping alone / I'm up all night just checking my phone / Knowin' you ain’t coming home..."
With the chorus, Zimmerman sings, "Where do I go from here? / 'Cause baby I'm going nowhere fast / 'Cause half of me disappeared / When those taillights didn't turn back / Now I'm lost in a memory..."
No release date has been slated for the new tune, but perhaps ‘Lost’ will drop ahead of the official arrival of Different Night Same Rodeo on Aug. 8.
When released, the song will join previously dropped duets, like the Luke Combs-backed 'Backup Plan' and the Diplo-assisted 'Ashes', as well as a handful of already hit-worthy singles, such as 'New to Country' and 'Comin' In Cold'.
