When you think of country music, the odds are pretty good that images of Washington state aren't the first thing that come to mind... or the second.
Yet, that's exactly where one of the genre's next generation of stars hails from. Originally from Kalama, Washington, Tucker Wetmore's journey to music began after a career-ending injury that squashed his aspirations of becoming a professional football player while studying in Montana.
Leading him to move to Nashville in 2020, he decided to dive in head first and pursue his lifelong passion for music.
After making waves across social media thanks to a variety of song snippets, Wetmore released his very first song, 'Wine Into Whiskey,' in February 2024, garnering instant attention from every corner of the country world. He followed it up with what would become his career-defining, No. 1 single, 'Wind Up Missin' You,' cementing his spot as a newcomer worth keeping an eye on.
As one of the top new artists of 2024, he released his debut EP, Waves On A Sunset, in October of that year, featuring a collection of the songs that he'd been teasing across TikTok, including 'Silverado Blue' and 'What Would You Do?,' among others.
At the turn of 2025, Wetmore began building towards what would become his debut album, What Not To. Officially released in late April, the collection of songs showcases his unique blend of traditional country elements, light trap hooks and pop-leaning sensibilities, featuring standout songs like '3,2,1,' 'Brunette' and the sobering title track.
