Morgan Wallen has issued his first statement since his arrest in Nashville earlier in the month, with the ‘Last Night’ hitmaker taking to X (formerly Twitter) to underline he is “not proud” of his behaviour and that he accepts responsibility for what happened.

The Sneedville singer-songwriter is accused of throwing a chair off the sixth story of Eric Church's new bar, Chief's, which is alleged to have landed near police officers below.

In his statement, as well as explaining why he had not spoken about the reported incident sooner and expressing his gratitude for the service undertaken by Nashville law enforcement, Morgan Wallen shared an update on his 2024 tour.

Fans had been concerned that he would have to reschedule upcoming dates in Mississippi and Nashville, but Morgan has assured them there will be “no change” to the tour.

The ‘Thought You Should Know’ chart-topper opened his social media statement by underlining, “I didn't feel right publicly checking in until I made amends with some folks. I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s. I'm not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility”.

He went on to outline that the shows will be going ahead as planned, news that will no doubt come as a relief to ticket-holders, “I have the utmost respect for the officers working every day to keep us all safe. Regarding my tour, there will be no change”.

The Oxford, Mississippi tour-stop had already been postponed once before, after Morgan Wallen suffered a vocal chord injury in 2023 which prevented him from being able to perform.

Thankfully for those attending his rearranged Oxford show tonight (April 20th), it'll be continuing regardless of the doubts and uncertainty surrounding Morgan's arrest.

With a court-date pencilled in for May 3rd, it remains to be seen how the arrest will affect Morgan Wallen's international show at BST Hyde Park in London, which is due to take place on July 4th. The situation will become clearer after this court hearing, but his latest statement will ease UK fans’ minds, with Morgan emphasising his intentions to fulfil all his 2024 One Night At A Time tour-dates.
