Kenny Chesney has made it a tradition in recent years to close out his famed summer tours in Foxborough, Massachusetts, with fans in the region and neighbouring Boston treating the ‘No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems’ hitmaker like one of their own.
This year, Kenny Chesney is doing it bigger and better than ever, with Kenny bringing his 2024 Sun Goes Down tour to the Gillette Stadium for an unprecedented three nights.
Across August 23, 24 and 25, Kenny will be joined by his co-headliners, Zac Brown Band, as well as openers Megan Moroney and Uncle Kracker for the blockbuster triple-header. Uncle Kracker tends to kick things off at around 5pm, with Megan taking the stage at around 5:45pm, before Zac Brown Band perform at 6:50pm, ahead of Kenny's momentous set at 8:45pm, although this varies from show to show.
Excitingly, Kenny Chesney has been bringing out one of country's brightest new stars, Megan Moroney, during his set to perform his ‘90s classic, ‘She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy’. The playful, tongue-in-cheek earworm has not always been a staple of Kenny Chesney's setlist, but Megan Moroney has apparently been encouraging Kenny to perform it on his 2024 tour dates - and we're certainly not complaining. The two good friends often perform ‘All the Pretty Girls’ together as well.
Additionally - as is perhaps to be expected, given the fact that the tour is named after their colossal 2004 collaboration - Uncle Kracker also emerges during Kenny Chesney's show to perform their island-inspired No. 1, ‘When the Sun Goes Down’. They also link up for a high-energy cover of Mentor Williams’ ‘Drift Away’, too.
Alongside these star-studded duets, you can expect Kenny Chesney to reel off a sprawling selection of hits from his storied career, from older fire-starters such as ‘How Forever Feels’, ‘Don't Happen Twice’ and ‘Never Wanted Nothing More’ to newer carpe-diem anthems, like ‘Get Along’, ‘Here and Now’ and his latest No. 1, ‘Take Me Home’, the latter of which features on Kenny's acclaimed 2024 album, BORN.
Loyal members of No Shoes Nation will be looking forward to hearing Kenny Chesney playing ‘Boston’, a fan-favourite that he only ever performs at the Gillette Stadium.
While you're encouraged to bring in high expectations for an unforgettable set, you're advised against taking a bag, where possible. If you do wish or need to carry a bag, it must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and smaller than 12" by 12" by 6", or, alternatively, a small wristlet or handheld wallet no bigger than 6.5" by 4.5" will be permitted.
If you're driving to the Gillette Stadium, bear in mind that the parking lots open at 1pm and close immediately after the show finishes at around 11pm. There is general parking accessible via the opposite side of Route 1, which is included in the price of your ticket. Prepaid parking is available from $50 and can be bought here.
Both Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown Band concerts are known for being welcoming spaces, with many ticket-holders turning up in a variety of pirate-themed and beach-ready outfits, in honour of both artists’ penchant for nautically-minded odes. If you're in need of some new gear, Kenny sells a range of ‘No Shoes Nation’ caps, tees and more, with an array of items - including his 2024 tour tee and the iconic ‘Blue Chair Bay Rum’ trucker cap - on-sale at the show itself.
Kenny Chesney's Foxborough tour-stops are always special, but with three consecutive shows on the books and a top-tier cast of fellow performers, it'll feel more like a mini-festival than a concert. With the weather set to climb into the early 80s this weekend, the stage is set for an unmissable feel-good, sun-soaked extravaganza.
What better way to close out the summer than by singing along at the top of your lungs to ‘Everything's Gonna Be Alright’ in a packed-out Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts?
