Country music's newest documentary is set to make landfall on Paramount+ on January 16.
Simply titled June, the highly anticipated feature will take viewers through the complex life of multi-hyphenate personality June Carter Cash. The documentary made its world premiere in November 2023 at the DOC NYC Festival.
A second generation country music star born into the closest thing to a royal family you can find in the genre, who was later famously married to the legendary Johnny Cash, the movie will show fans the ups and downs of her superb career as a singer-songwriter and the personal obstacles that she faced along the way.
Carter Cash, who was a 5x Grammy winner, comedian, musician, actor and author, enjoyed remarkable successes over her six-decades-long career, including opening for icon Elvis Presley, appearing onscreen with Robert Duvall and Jane Seymour and co-penning the instantly recognizable country hit, 'Ring of Fire'.
June will feature an array of never-before-seen footage surrounding the beloved figure, while also shining a spotlight on the history of country music and the impact Carter Cash's lineage had on the genre as The Carter Family.
In addition to interviews with members of Carter Cash's family, the film will also see conversations with the likes of Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Kacey Musgraves, Emmylou Harris, Ronnie Dunn, Reese Witherspoon and more.
After the January 16 release date in the U.S. and Canada, June will also debut the following day in the UK, Australia, Latin America, Brazil, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
