When watching an episode of Theo Von's This Past Weekend podcast, the subject matter is reliably unpredictable. But one thing you can always be sure of is that it'll be downright hilarious.

The latest guest on the show was ‘Wranglers’ hitmaker Miranda Lambert, with the two delving into a variety of interesting topics, ranging from the decision to record her new album, Postcards, in her home-state of Texas, to her favourite up-and-coming country artists.

One of the most amusing moments, however, came when Theo Von and Miranda Lambert were discussing the classic US radio show, Casey Kasem's American Top 40, with Theo's producer pulling up the website. As they talked about The Cryin’, Lovin’ Or Leavin’ Show, Theo asked his producer if he could play a random clip.

The snippet they chose, though - which just happened to be the first one to come up on the site - was of a caller ten years ago requesting to hear Blake Shelton's ‘God Gave Me You’.

Not only was this a track by Miranda Lambert's ex-husband, with the two getting a high-profile divorce in 2015, but ‘God Gave Me You’ was the couple's first-dance song at their wedding.

This faux-pas was clearly unintentional from Theo Von and the team, and thankfully, Miranda laughed it off, joking, “Perfect one to pick, by the way! Perfect. Perfect!”

The two couldn't help but giggle at the honest mistake, with Theo Von assuring Miranda Lambert it was an accident, “There's no way, we did not...Miranda, I swear to God...we did not pick that on purpose...I had no idea we were gonna talk about that”.

The Texas singer-songwriter responded, “That was actually perfect...My first wedding song, guys, let's play that”, with Miranda then suggesting they should create a spin-off of the old radio show. Theo quipped that when it came to Cryin’, Lovin’ or Leavin’, they'd touched on all three by accidentally pulling up that Blake Shelton song.

Miranda Lambert candidly mentioned earlier in the show that she doesn't tend to appear on podcasts, as she doesn't feel as comfortable talking about herself as she does when she's on-stage performing. As this laughable moment showed, though, she was a great guest, with the episode combining hilarity and deeper subject matter.

Later on in the new instalment of Theo Von's This Past Weekend, both Theo and Miranda gushed about Big Loud signee, Stephen Wilson Jr. They expressed how much they loved songs such as ‘Patches’ and ’Father's Søn’, with Miranda toasting Wilson Jr.'s 2023 album, søn of dad, as “one of the greatest records to come out in a decade”. søn of dad topped Holler's 2023 Albums of the Year list.
