You don't really need to give us another excuse to spin Warren Zeiders' recent single 'You For A Reason' here at Holler, but we'll take one if there's one going.
After releasing the Stripped Version of 'You For A Reason' last week, Holler is thrilled to be giving you the exclusive first look at a live performance of the song and another chance to listen to the song in its raw emotional state.
Filmed with a full band, the driving country anthem is powered by Zeiders' gritty gutsy vocal. Whatever Warren Zeiders sings, it feels like a catharsis for him somehow. He sings from deep down in the darkness of his heart with all the guts it takes for a man to be honest and vulnerable in this day and age.
"So many times in the moment we don’t understand why or what the purpose is of something not working out, but eventually it all makes sense," Zeiders says of the song. "We see that those reasons mould us to become who we are supposed to be. What feels like hurt in the moment turns into perspective. That's what this song is about, someone who might've only lasted for a season, but it was for a reason."
Taken from his recently announced double album Relapse, Lies, & Betrayal, set to release on March 14th, 'You For A Reason' is the centrepiece of an album about love, loss and gratitude and the perfect showcase for Warren Zeiders almost therapeutic approach to songwriting as the college-athlete-turned hitmaker turns his attentions inwards to reflect on his personal relationships and the mental rollercoaster he's experienced during his rapidly changing life and career.
"I was lonesome as leaves when the trees laid them down / Until I looked up and laid eyes on you," he sings on 'You For A Reason', every part the modern day cowboy troubadour. "I needed a woman to hold me, an angel to know me / A girl even if it was just for a season / It was you for a reason."
