After announcing his blockbuster 2024 Sun Goes Down tour earlier in the week, Kenny Chesney has surprised fans with the release of a brand new single, ‘Take Her Home’.
It marks listeners’ first taste of new music from the ‘No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems’ hitmaker since his touching ode to his dog, ‘Da Ruba Girl’, which he released towards the end of 2022.
‘Take Her Home’ is a masterclass in country storytelling, with a trio of Nashville's premier songsmiths, HARDY, Hunter Phelps and Zach Abend, taking the listener through an endearing, rose-tinted tale of two young dreamers falling in love.
It'll delight fans of classic Kenny Chesney story songs such as ‘The Good Stuff’, ‘I Lost It’ and ‘There Goes My Life’, with the Tropical Country trailblazer bringing each lyric to life with his unmistakable croon (“Take her home, fall in love, thank the good Lord up above / That He sent one down into your arms / And put a chain around your ‘raised hell’ heart”).
If this is any indication as to what's to come, then we sure can't wait for Kenny Chesney's Here and Now follow-up, with Kenny's eagerly anticipated new album widely expected - and hoped - to be on its way to streaming services in early 2024.
The release of ‘Take Her Home’ follows Kenny Chesney's deeply moving tribute to the late Jimmy Buffett at the 2023 CMA Awards, with the four-time Entertainer of the Year winner delivering a spellbinding, stripped-back performance with Mac McAnally.
