Country music has always celebrated that special place that moms hold in all our lives. Songs dedicated to moms sung by moms themselves or by the sons and daughters they raised and the husbands and wives whose lives they've enriched. Now GRAMMY® Award winners and Country Music Hall of Fame inductees The Oak Ridge Boys give us a whole album of songs filled with heartfelt tributes to their own mothers and mothers everywhere.

Ahead of the release of their new album, Mama's Boys, tomorrow, the band share 'Her Voice,' a song filled with their memories of hearing their own mother singing them lullabies and reading to them to sleep at night when they were younger, giving them advice as they got older and how that heavenly voice comes back to them still.

"I hear her voice loud and clear / I hear her voice like she's always here," they sing. "When I have a choice to choose, Mama's light comes shining through / I hear her voice, hear her voice, hear her voice."

“Mothers are one the greatest gifts we have in our lives,” shares William Lee Golden. “The Oak Ridge Boys’ new album is a dedication to every mother out there, who loves their family until the end. I’d do anything to hear my mother’s voice, one more time.”

Having sold over 41 millions units worldwide with Top 10 hits, including No. 1 chart-toppers 'Elvira,' 'Bobbie Sue,' 'Thank God For Kids,' 'American Made,' and 'Y’All Come Back Saloon,' this project marks their fifth collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Dave Cobb, recorded at the iconic RCA Studio A and Blackbird Studios in Nashville.

“The idea for the mamas album came from our producer, David Cobb,” says Duane Allen. “He said, 'Man! You guys are perfect examples of mama's boys. I think there's a need for a complete album on all the things your mama taught you about love and life and how to get along - all the important things.' That's kind of how it started.”

With Mama’s Boys, Dave Cobb and The Oak Ridge Boys strike a powerful emotional chord, reminding us of the lasting bond we share with the women who raised us.

“We asked the music people to bring us the best songs that they have ever heard about mama,” shares Duane Allen. “Writers from Aaron Raitiere and David Lee Murphy, to Dottie Rambo, to Willie Nelson helped us out. Yes, Willie came in and sang with us on the song he wrote, 'I Thought About You, Lord.' Thank you to our music friends for bringing us your great songs about mothers, and making Mama’s Boys a reality.”

Tragically, this is the first album released since the Oaks made their country breakthrough in 1976 that's devoid of tenor Joe Bonsall's energy and flash. Illness forced his retirement in early 2024, and he passed away on July 9. With Bonsall's blessing, however, Ben James quickly stepped into his role alongside the Oaks' enduring lineup of Duane Allen (lead singer), William Lee Golden (baritone) and Richard Sterban (bass).
