Drayton Farley has shared his My Opry Debut video, which takes the viewer through the Alabama native's journey so far and his emotions leading up to the momentous occasion.
Farley stepped into the hallowed Opry circle on September 13 2023, and performed one of the many fan-favourites from his acclaimed 2022 Walk Home EP, ‘Dreamer’.
During his heartwarming My Opry Debut video, Drayton Farley sheds some light on the inspiration behind ‘Dreamer’, and admits the musical path he's chosen to pursue is somewhat ‘unconventional’ for someone who grew up in a small-town like his.
The fast-emerging artist recalls the moment when he realised he wanted to chase after this dream, with Farley crediting a Sturgill Simpson and Jason Isbell show as the catalyst for this.
Drayton Farley has amassed a loyal following over the past few years through a series of celebrated projects, including his 2023 Twenty On High album, which was soon followed up by his Kudzu Wild EP.
His sparse, rootsy composition and vocals have situated Drayton Farley at the forefront of modern country's traditionalist, folk-leaning wave of artists, and many will undoubtedly be expecting him to be invited back to the Opry stage before too long.
