For five decades, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival has been delivering the best in live music, bringing together top-notch talent for one incredible long weekend of good tunes and good times. The fest's 2024 season will be no different.

This year's celebration will see Charley Crockett, The Infamous Stringdusters, Lyle Lovett and longtime festival staple Sam Bush act as headliners. 

Repeat favorites like Leftover Salmon, Sierra Hull, Sierra Ferrell, and Punch Brothers will also be joining the mix, as well as an array of first-timers like Ocie Elliott, Madison Cunningham, Ripe, SistaStrings, Langan Band, Po Ramblin’ Boys, Danny Paisley and more.

Charley Crockett has an aura of myth about him. As the distant relative of American folk hero Davy Crockett, he's lived up to his ancestor's name, traveling all over the country and gathering its influences into what he describes as his 'Gulf + Western music', which blends traditional country, honky tonk, blues and soul.  

Crockett was born in 1984. He grew up in Texas, where he taught himself to play guitar and write songs without any formal training. He left home at 17, using music to support himself as he busked and played in New Orleans, New York, and across the U.S. 

His talents attracted attention from the music industry, including a two-year management deal with Sony Records, but that didn't pan out. Instead, he went to Northern California, where he worked on farms, before heading to France and Morocco. 

When he returned Stateside, Crockett self-released his debut album 

 in 2015. Over the next six years, he went on to release a total of ten albums. But it wasn't until the release of 2020's 

that he began attracting more national attention for his music.  

He followed that breakthrough with a tribute album in honor of James 'Slim' Hand called

which he released in 2021. That same year, Crockett released his tenth studio album 

At the age of 37, he was named Emerging Artist of the Year at the Americana Music Awards in 2021.

 crisscrossed the country busking, enchanting audiences all over North America and Europe with her high-spirited and dazzling live performances. 

Eventually, Ferrell made her way to Nashville where her distinctive voice and songwriting began to attract fans and she signed with Rounder Records to release her debut studio album

Garnering both popular and critical acclaim for her jazz-inflected multi-instrumentalism and striking, timeless voice, Sierra Ferrell has reinvented the country wheel and shone as one of the brightest young luminaries in roots music today, bringing a little beautifully eccentric magic to everything she touches.

With a musical upbringing that included playing everywhere from truck stops and boxcars to New Orleans street corners, her music is an eclectic rag-bag of freewheeling bluegrass and old-timey country folk.

She won the Emerging Act of the Year prize at the Americana Honors & Awards in 2022, before scooping the Artist of the Year award and the Album of the Year award in 2024 for 

She has collaborated with everyone from Margo Price and Old Crow Medicine Show to Benjamin Tod and Zach Bryan.

Americana singer/songwriter Sierra Ferrell may hail from West Virginia, but her music captures influences both far and wide.

Throughout the 21st century, we have seen droves of women take the reigns and pave their own way in just about every category of life. When it comes to women in bluegrass, though, Molly Tuttle has single handedly led the charge.

A third-generation musician, our California-born trailblazer was steeped in bluegrass music from a young age, first picking up the guitar at age eight. By the time she turned 11, Molly had started wielding the banjo and mandolin. and was playing onstage with her father, Jack, who was a bluegrass multi-instrumentalist and instructor in his own right.

At the age of 15 - about the time she started to play around with writing her own songs - Molly joined her family band, The Tuttles, self-releasing a pair of albums, including 2011's 

In her late teens, Molly was already starting to gain recognition for her guitar picking skills and roots artistry. In 2012 alone, she earned merit scholarships to the Berklee College of Music for music and composition, received the Foundation for Bluegrass Music's Hazel Dickens Memorial Scholarship, won the Chris Austin Songwriting Competition at Merlefest Music Festival and was named Best Female Vocalist and Best Guitar Player by the Northern California Bluegrass Society.

After studying at Berklee's American Roots Music Program with a focus on guitar performance and songwriting, Molly landed in Nashville in 2015 and began working with an array of characters in the Americana, folk and bluegrass communities.

Everything came to a head for Molly in 2017 after a crowdfunding campaign cleared the way for the release of her 

Later that year, thanks to her lauded flat-picking, clawhammer and crosspicking guitar prowess, she became the first woman to win the International Bluegrass Music Association's Guitar Player of the Year award. The following year, she was awarded the honor again, as well as the Americana Music Association's Instrumentalist of the Year.

, came in 2019 via Compass Records, as well as a covers album in 2020 named 

 that ran the gamut from FKA Twigs to Karen Dalton.

2022 brought another breakthrough moment for Molly, who made her Nonesuch Records debut with the award-winning album, 

. Honoring the bluegrass tradition while also pushing the genre into new lyrical directions, the album also features her bluegrass collective, Golden Highway - composed of Dominick Leslie (mandolin), Kyle Tuttle (banjo), Bronwyn Keith-Hynes (fiddle) and Shelby Means (bass).

 was awarded the Best Bluegrass Album award at the 2023 Grammys, which also saw Molly earn a nod for the all-genre Best New Artist award. And Molly has been on the fast-track to superstardom since, bolstered by her 2023 record, 

From humble beginnings in her family band to becoming one of the most compelling voices in modern roots music, the virtuosic, multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter and her trusty band have become one of the leading figures in the bluegrass and Americana genres in less than a decade.
