The birthplace of country music is getting even more music this summer with the inaugural Into The Pines Festival. A one-day celebration, the first-year event will take place on June 1 in downtown Bristol, TN/VA.
For its first year, organizers brought out all the stops for Into The Pines, with a lineup that opens with Tulsa titan Wyatt Flores and ends with west coast country icon Dwight Yoakam.
In between, attendees will also be able to catch unforgettable sets from East Texas tunesmith Paul Cauthen, as well as genre blending entertainer Elle King.
The festival is produced by the same team behind the much-loved Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion, which all but ensures it'll be a one-of-a-kind event.
Here, we'll have all the up-to-date news on new line-up announcements, the latest ticket and festival pass details, and any further exciting info and details for the 2024 event.
Celebrating the "roots and branches of American music", Into The Pines takes its name from one of the country's most enduring traditional folk songs.
Recorded by everyone from Bill Monroe to Nirvana, and Lead Belly to Dolly Parton, the song – and by extension the festival – represent the lasting power of music across generations and genres. 'In The Pines' is told to have originated in the 1870s, with a variant of the song recorded during the famous Bristol Sessions in 1927 by The Tenneva Ramblers.
Proceeds from In The Pines 2024 will go towards supporting the Birthplace of Country Music, a nonprofit organization that seeks to perpetuate, promote and celebrate the city's rich musical heritage, as well as educate and engage audiences worldwide regarding the history, impact and legacy of the 1927 Bristol Sessions.
