A major event in British culture, the first Glastonbury Festival – then called Pilton Festival – was held at Worthy Farm in September 1970. With performances by Tyrannosaurus Rex, Steamhammer, Quintessence, Stackridge, Al Stewart, Pink Fairies and Keith Christmas, the inaugural event was attended by 1,500 people.

In the years since, icons such as David Bowie, Sinéad O'Connor, Oasis, Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, The Who, Jay-Z, Bruce Springsteen, U2, The Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters, Elton John and a long list of others have graced the hallowed stage.

The 2023 instalment featured performances from the likes of The Chicks, Lizzo, Lana Del Rey, Guns N’ Roses, Carly Rae Jepsen, Aitch, Maggie Rogers, Lil Nas X and and Fred Again.
