Festival - Cavendish Beach Music Festival Logo 2025

It's official! Cavendish Beach Music Festival is returning to Prince Edward Island in 2025, filling the Canadian province with the best in country and Americana from July 10-12. 

Shania Twain and Lainey Wilson are the first confirmed headliners for the momentous event, with the ‘That Don't Impress Me Much’ megastar set to take the stage on the opening day of the festival and Wilson due to deliver the grand finale on July 12.

Filling in the space between will be country hitmaker Tyler Hubbard, as well as a stacked lineup brimming with the likes of Josh Ross, Wyatt Flores, Stephen Wilson Jr., Adrien Nunez and more across the trio of days.

The 2024 event welcomed a trio of superstar headliners in Tyler Childers, Zac Brown Band and Brothers Osborne.

Last year's extravaganza also brought together a slew of other star-quality talent, hosting the likes of Sam Barber, Hailey Whitters, Warren Zeiders, Corb Lund, Kylie Morgan and more across its three days of programming.

When any starry-eyed country music hopeful packs up their life and moves to Music City, they're often moulded, sculpted and pulled in every which way by label execs in order to build a specific ‘brand’.  

, she's maintained a distinct determination to stay true to her roots. Many artists sing about their down-home upbringing as a marketing device, but for Lainey, it's always been the truth - all she needed was three chords to accompany it. 

She grew up in a camper trailer in rural Baskin, Louisiana, and stormed onto the scene with her reflective 2021 single, ‘Things A Man Oughta Know’. The track earned Lainey a No. 1, a Platinum certification and the award for ACM Song of the Year. Alongside this, Lainey also picked up the ACM New Female Artist of the Year prize. 

It didn't take long for Nashville to warm to Lainey's honeyed drawl and traditionally-minded yet contemporary sound. Billboard named Lainey as their Top New Country Artist of 2021, while CMT championed her as the 2022 Breakout Artist of the Year. 

If 2021 was Lainey's take-off, then 2022 saw Lainey rocketing into country's galaxy of modern-day stars. Two successful collaborations set the ball rolling. Her Cole Swindell assisted single, ‘Never Say Never’, became Lainey's second No. 1 in April 2022, while her dark, ominous HARDY duet, ‘wait in the truck’, sent ripples across Radnor Lake and quickly became one of the most notable tracks of the year.

This laid the foundation for the October 2022 release of 

The project spawned singles such as ‘Heart Like A Truck’ and ‘Live Off’, both of which embody the unpretentious, small-town way of life that continues to inspire so much of Lainey's music. 

Often, Lainey Wilson's sound of choice is fun, playful and swaggering, while at other times, it's beautifully poignant and heartfelt. But whichever sonic playbook she chooses to draw from, one thing's for sure - it's always going to be unmistakably, unashamedly and unwaveringly

For Lainey Wilson, her brand is as simple as it is resolute - being her own damn self.

But her rise to stardom took some time. Twain, who was born Eileen Regina Edwards, grew up singing and performing around her hometown. After graduating high school, she toured Ontario with a cover band while taking singing lessons in Toronto.

She started getting attention for her singing chops, but her plans were derailed when her parents died in a car accident in 1987 and she moved back home to take care of her siblings.

Once her brothers and sisters were old enough to leave home, Twain put together a demo tape and eventually signed to Mercury Nashville. Her self-titled debut album, Shania Twain, arrived in 1993. 

The attention she’d been getting from American audiences blossomed with the release of her 1995 follow-up The Woman in Me, which featured the hit single ‘Any Man of Mine’. The album has since been certified RIAA diamond. 

Her next album 1997’s Come on Over landed at the number two spot on the Billboard 200, and becoming the best-selling album by a female country artist at the time. Both the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association named her Entertainer of the Year in 1998. 

Two more albums followed, 2002’s Up! and 2017’s Now. Twain has built on the popularity of her music and world tours with two Las Vegas residencies. Her home country has honored her in several ways. In 2011, she was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, while in 2018, the Canadian Country Music Association honored her with its Generation Award, awarded to an artist who has impacted country music in a major way.
