Like the timely arrival of superheroes. Just when you needed them most, North Mississippi Allstars return with a lively injection of positivity and uplifting roots funk to rescue us all. 'See The Moon' is the latest single to be taken from their forthcoming album, Set Sail.

Today, Holler are exclusively premiering the record's next single, 'See The Moon', along with its wonderful one-shot video which perfectly captures the joyful energy of the band in the studio.

After 25 years, twelve albums, four Grammy Award nominations, and sold-out shows everywhere, North Mississippi Allstars open up their world once again on Set Sail, extending their musical family out to welcome Stax Records legend William Bell (on 'Never Want To Be Kissed') and Lamar Williams Jr - the son of Allman Brothers bassist Lamar Williams Sr - on the follow up to the album's title track released in November.

As sons of the legendary producer and musician Jim Dickinson, Luther and Cody Dickinson started the band in 1996 as a loose collective of like-minded second-generation musicians who shared a local repertoire and regional style, shifting their line-up over the years to include similarly free-thinking musicians. Set Sail was produced by Luther and Cody Dickinson and follows their Grammy Award Nominated 2019 album Up and Rolling, which was met with wide critical acclaim.

Set Sail continues the band’s tradition of creating roots music with remarkable variety. The record sizzles with a hard yet understated groove, while Luther’s wide-ranging guitar style features jazz riffs, psychedelic sounds, and soulful slide.

"'See the Moon' is a vibe", Luther told Holler. "It’s a groove that can get you up in the morning prepared to face the day, as well as setting the mood for an evening out. The song started out with a keyboard on my iPad, and it came to life when Cody added his drums, bass, and funky guitar. The last verse was improvised in the studio, on the mic, and touches on our belief that music is a celebration of life. It’s a joy to sing with Lamar Williams Jr and Sharisse Norman. Music is essential and we are honored to serve".

Luther & Cody Dickinson and Lamar Williams, Jr. are currently appearing on the Allman Family Revival tour featuring The Allman Betts Band, Robert Randolph, Donovon Frankenreiter, Lilly Hiatt and more. North Mississippi Allstars’ initial 2022 tour dates in support of Set Sail have also been announced, launching February 1st in Solana Beach, CA.

Set Sail is set for release January 28th on New West Records. A limited “Gotham Color” vinyl and compact disc edition featuring exclusive variant packaging and a download with two unreleased bonus tracks is available here.
