Hailing from Asheville, NC, Town Mountain are fast becoming the standard bearers of alt-country with their distinctive blend of Americana, country, bluegrass and old-timey folk. The group’s wide-ranging influences distill down into a classic country sound that takes in everything from The Band, Grateful Dead, Bill Monroe, Townes Van Zandt, John Hartford and Chuck Berry.

After more than a decade together, the band has proven that a fierce independent spirit is no barrier to long term success by regularly cranking out albums and collaborating with like-minded artists such as Tyler Childers, Billy Strings, and Jerry Douglas, while making a name for themselves coast-to-coast for their incendiary live performances.

‘Seasons Don't Change’ is the next taste of their forthcoming album Lines in the Levee, due out on October 7th, on New West Records. The 11-song collection was produced, engineered, and mixed by the multiple Grammy Award nominated Justin Francis (Kacey Musgraves, Orville Peck, Anti-Flag) at Ronnie’s Place in Nashville.

“Change is constant, change is inevitable, change is here and now”, Town Mountain's Jesse Langlais told us about the inspiration for the song. “It’s not hard to see that the human race is playing a massive role in climate change. All you have to do is read the papers, watch the news or just step outside. Floods, fires, melting roads, rising sea levels, drought and the question that looms over us everyday, what’s next?”

“‘Seasons do change’ is what my daughter tells me when she listens to this song, and for now they still do; although they certainly bleed together. I can’t really tell when summer starts and spring ends. I hope, for her and the following generations, that we can somehow manage the trouble that’s coming their way. It’s a serious matter but with 'Seasons Don’t Change,' I let humour take the lead. Roll mama roll…she’ll keep doing that, even if we do her wrong”.

The song is premiering exclusively on Holler below.

Lines in the Levee will be available across digital platforms, on CD and various different vinyl formats on October 7th. Available to preorder here.
