Uh oh! Casi Joy just pulled the pin on our crazy grenade! She set us off with a pop country party anthem that we'll be singing into each other's faces all afternoon while we dance around the office kitchen.
"It’s my personal love story with my husband, Bryan,” Casi explained to us about the inspiration behind 'Partners In Time'.
“It's about finally finding your person to do life with; someone with whom your bond is so strong, you know you've got a partner until the end of time. I wrote this with my friends Justin Klump and Lauryn Tauber, and actually got the idea for the hook on the way to the write. I was driving, thinking about how incredible it is that I have such a rock in my life. No matter how crazy life gets, I know without a doubt that I've got a partner to stand by me through anything."
So, it's a super cute love song and we can dance to it? I can feel this escalating out of the kitchen very quickly!
With over 35 million video views online, Casi Joy has captured the hearts of country music fans the world over with her blend of neo-traditional country and contemporary pop. After appearing on NBC's The Voice, she instantly turned all four chairs and made it all the way through to the live finals. Blake Shelton still talks glowingly of her.
"She has this electric energy when she's on stage and these unique things that she can do vocally,” he effuses. “She's an edgier version of a country artist. She's old school but has a youthful energy about her. There's no stopping Casi Joy."
Casi began her music career touring the Midwest in the Country Opry circuit. After years of performing country classics, she was spotted and signed by Radio Disney at the age of 14. Shortly after, she took her music to Nashville, where she recorded at the legendary RCA Studios.
Since then she’s been getting a taste of that goddamn impossible way of life touring the US and Canada in a tour bus that she lives in full-time, and now she’s getting ready for the release of her debut full-length album, Miles & Maybes, on 31st March. It’s an album that shines a light on her distinctive way with words – as thoughtful and deeply personal as they are widely relatable – always with an ear for a banging pop hook.
Taken from the new album, Holler is thrilled to be exclusively premiering ‘Partners In Time’ below:
Originally from Kansas City before moving to Nashville, she’s shared the stage with many notable country acts including Montgomery Gentry, Maren Morris, Keith Urban, Carly Pearce, Easton Corbin, Dustin Lynch and LOCASH.
On her debut full-length album she manages to bottle up the sheer joyful energy of her live shows into a daring pop country party record that wears its heart unapologetically on its sleeve.
In a life that's never been short of unforgettable moments, there are about to be a whole lot more. Don't take your eyes off Casi Joy, not for a second.
Miles & Maybes is released on March 31st on Crooked Tree. Click here to presave and click here for a physical copy.
