Since releasing their first ever single in 2019, Eddy Smith and the 507 spent the following four years or so establishing themselves at the forefront of the UK’s burgeoning Americana and alt-folk scene through their irresistible blend of raw, husky vocals and an eclectic sonic palette.
On Eddy Smith and the 507’s debut album, you can hear lively, toe-tapping soul on ‘Love Sick’, before the band transports you to Music City on the country-leaning, Eagles-inspired ‘Something For Free’.
Released in September 2023, the band’s acclaimed Right Up ‘Til Now project compiled previously shared singles such as ‘The Ballad of Bobby Grey’, ‘Something For Free’, ‘The Good Times’ and ‘Ticket Out of Here’, as well as offering listeners the chance to hear eagerly anticipated originals, including ‘I Don’t Remember Telling You I Loved You’ and ‘Rainey Street’.
The quintet has secured coveted slots at prestigious UK country and Americana extravaganzas, such as Black Deer, The Isle of Wight Festival, Cambridge Folk and more. Having earned a slew of new fans during their famously electrifying performances, epitomised by their Holler Live Session and their Long Road Festival 2023 set on the Front Porch, Eddy Smith and the 507 are on the verge of evolving from British prodigies into transatlantic trailblazers.
