Country music and religion have always enjoyed a closely intertwined relationship, with the ethereal cries of the steel guitars gently echoing heartfelt lyrics about the comfort of faith.
This happy marriage is epitomised on Larry Fleet's soulful song, ‘Where I Find God’, which has now been certified Gold by RIAA.
Fleet celebrated the news with a heartfelt post on his socials, during which he paid tribute to the songwriters involved in the writing process, his Big Loud team, and all the fans that have streamed the single.
‘Where I Find God’ is the singer-songwriter's most recognisable song to date, with the stripped-back track exploring the quiet, unexpected moments when Fleet feels his faith being accentuated.
The song captures country music's preference for a personal relationship with faith, one that can be found just as easily, in Fleet's case, floating on an Evinrude on a peaceful lake, as it can from a church pew.
In October 2022, the Tennessee native put out a live rendition of ‘Where I Find God’, as part of his Live Sessions Vol. 1 project.
Prior to this, he teased the release by uploading a YouTube video of his live performance of the song alongside Morgan Wallen, recorded while the two were out on the latter's Dangerous tour.
Towards the end of last year, Larry Fleet released a brand new collaboration, ‘Quittin’ Ain't Workin’, with Mike Ryan.
