On a momentous night for Luke Combs, the North Carolina star performed his recent single, ‘The Kind Of Love We Make’ at the 2022 CMA Awards.

The single was taken from Combs’ chart-topping 2022 album, Growin’ Up, which went on to take the CMA Award for Album of the Year.

The performance marked a gear-shift from Combs’ high-octane, party-starting shows that have gained him a reputation as one of the most electrifying live acts in the genre.

For this set, Combs traded in his fiery theatrics for the warm glow of the flickering lanterns that lined the stage.

This placed the focus entirely onto his stellar vocals throughout ‘The Kind Of Love We Make’, perfectly setting the mood for his performance of this romantic slow-burner.

Alongside CMA Album of the Year, Luke Combs also took home the award for CMA Entertainer of the Year for the second year running, and his live performance highlighted the versatility that makes Combs one of the most popular all-round entertainers in modern country.

He effortlessly flits between the delicacy of songs such as ‘The Kind Of Love We Make’ and the brawn of anthems such as ‘Beer Never Broke My Heart’ and ‘When It Rains It Pours’.

Fans will be able to see the 2022 CMA Entertainer of the Year out on the road in 2023 as Combs embarks on his first World Tour, playing a series of shows across the US, the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

The 2022 CMA Awards, which were hosted by Luke Bryan and NFL star Peyton Manning, also saw performances from artists such as Chris Stapleton, Thomas Rhett, Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood, Cody Johnson, Zac Brown Band, Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, Carly Pearce, HARDY, Lainey Wilson and more.
